HMN provides you with our health education programming via the small computer or “Player Box” installed behind or near the TV monitor.

The Player Box functions:

  • Turns the TV monitor ‘Off’ and ‘On’ automatically.
  • Feeds HMN network content to the TV monitor using your internet connection.

If your TV monitor is not displaying any picture, please follow these simple steps:

Step 1

Check that the power cord is plugged into the wall and both TV monitor and Player Box are ‘On’. You should see lights from the units indicating that they are ‘On’. If they are not ‘On’, press the Power button on the unit(s).

Step 2

If after pressing the Power button the units do not turn ‘On’, unplug for 30 seconds and then plug back in.

Step 3

On the TV monitor’s remote control, press ‘Input’ button and wait 5 seconds. Depending on the TV monitor/Player Box model, the correct input will either be HDMI or DVI or VGA. If necessary, continue to press the ‘Input’ button until you find the correct input mode.

Step 4

If Player Box is connected to internet by a cable, check that cable is plugged into your internet port.

Step 5

Check with your IT department that your Firewall settings have not changed.
